Riviera del Brenta

The Venetian aristocracy used to have their summer villas built alongside the River Brenta, a natural extension of the Grand Canal.

An extraordinary historical, cultural and artistic setting where the harmonious connection between architecture and landscape is still considerable.

Dante, Palladio, Tiepolo, Canaletto,  Goldoni, Goethe, Byron, Jappelli and many other illustrious artists have sang, played, painted and contributed with their art to the beauty and originality of this land.

The 200 and more venetians villas, facing the River Brenta, surrounded by their majestic parks are today an interesting set for guided tours, exhibitions and international events.

In order to visit some villas and enjoy the sight of the entire river you can have a tour with the “Burchiello”, the typical boat.

A charming cruise, through nine swing bridges and five locks real "water lifts", allowing the descending of an almost 10-metre high water slope between Venice and Padua.

The guided cruises usually include boat trips from Venice to Padua (Venice, Fusina, Malcontenta, Oriago, Mira, Dolo, Stra, Padua) or from Padua to Venice (Padua, Stra, Dolo, Mira, Oriago, Malcontenta, Fusina, Venezia); the visits to the Villa Gradenigo of Oriago, to the Villa Widmann or Barchessa Valmarana of Mira, to the Villa Pisani of Stra, to the Villa Foscari Malcontenta.
