Exploring the masterpieces of drawing in Padua
Our hotel is delighted to welcome guests who wish to experience an unforgettable cultural journey.
In Padua, just 12 km from our hotel, Palazzo Zabarella is hosting one of the most extraordinary exhibitions of the year: "Matisse, Picasso, Modigliani, Mirò. Masterpieces of Drawing from the Musée de Grenoble."
In collaboration with the prestigious Musée de la Ville de Grenoble, this exhibition offers a unique opportunity to admire 130 works by 47 artists who revolutionized 20th-century art.
The Musée de Grenoble, boasting the second-largest collection of graphic art in France after the Centre Pompidou, brings some of the most precious artistic testimonies of the period to Padua.
An immersion into 20th-century art movements
From the hands of geniuses such as Matisse, Picasso, Chagall, Mirò, and Modigliani, this exhibition allows you to journey through the major artistic movements that defined the first half of the 20th century. In addition to these masters, other prominent figures like Signac, Bonnard, Vuillard, Delaunay, and Cocteau are featured, contributing to a complete and fascinating overview of the artistic evolution of the period.
The essence of drawing: a journey through techniques and materials
This exhibition not only presents works on paper but also celebrates the expressive freedom that drawing and graphic techniques offered artists.
From pencil to charcoal, watercolor to tempera, and collage, each work reveals an intimate and spontaneous aspect of the artist. It explores the language of figuration and abstraction, experimentation with compositions and forms, and the use of colors in a way only direct interaction with the medium can achieve.
A must-See experience at Palazzo Zabarella
Curated by Guy Tosatto, director of the Musée de Grenoble, the exhibition offers a rare opportunity to connect with the creative process of the great masters of the 20th century. Matisse, for example, described drawing as “the direct and purest translation of my emotion,” a statement that perfectly reflects the intimate and immediate nature of these works.
If you are an art lover but also enjoy relaxing in thermal spas, this combination is perfect for you.
A walk through the historic streets and squares of Padua will lead you to Palazzo Zabarella, where you can immerse yourself in the beauty of modern art and experience firsthand the power and creativity of artists who forever changed the course of art history.
